Therapy rooted in compassion, connection, & change.
Individual, family, and relationship counseling and Occupational Therapy Services in Tucson and online throughout Arizona.
Searching for the right therapist can be exhausting.
You’re scrolling through endless pictures and bios, trying to decide who looks friendly and easy to talk to while also having the proper knowledge and expertise.
As therapists, we have all been there too, so we’ve made the process easier — clearly identifying who we are, what we believe in, how we approach our work, and what to expect throughout the process.
Whether your searching for a space for yourself, a child, or as a family, we’re ready to help you get started.
Hi! I’m Rachel.
Little bit about Olive Branch’s journey.
I’m the owner and Clinical Director of Olive Branch Counseling, a growing group practice in Tucson, AZ.
As someone who went my whole childhood with undiagnosed neurodivergence, I’m passionate about creating spaces where others have a safe place to land and explore their identity — finding clarity and validation.
We’re about helping people of all ages who feel different, highly sensitive to the world, and misunderstood. Every person you come into contact with here has a relentless commitment to neuro-affirming, compassionate, and effective care.
We come equipped with sarcasm, cursey words, and humor, so you can show up as you are.

-
We offer family and parent child therapy to help your family system reconnect and learn skills to improve communication and trust.
So what is neurodivergence?
Neurodivergence refers to the variation in how people think, process information, and experience the world.
Examples: ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and sensory processing disorder.
At Olive Branch, we honor and support these differences, helping you build a life that fits your needs.
Common Experiences
-
Every task feels big.
-
Whether it’s small transitions like getting out of bed to shower, going into school or work mode from the car, or a bigger transition such as going from summer break to school, starting a new job, this is a super overwhelming experience for neurodivergent people of all ages.
-
Researching special interests instead of that pile of laundry that’s been staring at you for a week.
Special interests tend to be long term, life long hobbies or topics , such as collecting niche items like coins, action figures, trinkets, maps, history, space, true crime, TV shows, movies. Literally all the best topics, if you ask us!Hyper focus shifts and changes with no warning or predictability, so something becomes a hyperfocus like taking up a new hobby or topic and then there’s no longer enough dopamine from the source and it’s gone.
We sometimes call this the ADHD graveyard, where short lived hobbies go to die. It’s kind of morbid but it does work as an analogy.
-
Might crave routine and structure but struggle to establish and maintain it.
Taking on ALL the changes at once where the routine crashes and burns.
-
This is a big topic on its own but for a quick reference:
-Sensitive to noise
-Visual overwhelm
-Challenges with clothing, textures, food
-Need for pressure/tactile input or avoidance of it
-Fidgeting/self-soothing
-Need for rocking/repetitive motion such as pacing back and forth, swinging in chair
-
How is it suddenly midnight and I haven’t finished anything.
-
Brain when faced with unwanted task: Dread. Avoidance.
-
Anyone have to use Find My Location to locate their phone at least twice a day? Yes, us too. This might also include keys, purse, water bottle, anything that’s super annoying and inconvenient.
-
I can’t say no!
Typically neurodivergent people feel a sense of pressure to chronically people please and say yes to everything.
A recipe for burnout which therapy is really useful for getting out of!
-
May struggle with small talk and the day to day expected pro-social communication.
Others may misinterpret as cold, rude, or weird because of bluntness and lack of “sugar coating” when just being honest and direct.
