 FAQs

  • To initiate your journey with us, you have the option to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation or an initial therapy session with the therapist of your choice.

You can do so by selecting your preferred therapist here or by filling out the contact form located Contact page of our website.

Upon scheduling your appointment, your therapist will email you intake paperwork to be completed before your first session. You'll also receive a link to your Client Portal, where you can conveniently complete the intake paperwork and schedule future appointments.

For parents initiating therapy for their child, please provide the names and emails of any other legal guardians or parents, unless married in the state of Arizona, to ensure the completion of the required paperwork by all parties involved.

  • Currently, many of our therapists accept Aetna and have limited slots available for insurance based clients.

Rachel and Crystal accept Lyra EAP so ask your employer about whether you have Lyra as an Employee Assistance Program.

We understand the importance of accessibility in mental health care, which is why we offer a limited number of reduced fee or Open Path slots for those in need.

We don’t accept any other health plans at this time and here are some of the benefits of going through cash pay services:

Insurance requirements often necessitate a diagnosis, which can remain on health records for both children and adults, potentially compromising privacy and leading to intrusive reviews of clinical documentation.

This process can be time-consuming for both you and your therapist, detracting from valuable treatment time.

By opting to pay out of pocket, you have greater control over the number of sessions and the therapeutic approach employed. This flexibility allows our therapists to focus on providing quality care tailored to your needs, while maintaining a manageable caseload to prevent burnout and ensure optimal support throughout your therapeutic journey.

  • At Olive Branch Counseling, we prioritize cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in our practice. Our therapists undergo ongoing training and education to deepen their understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences. We strive to create a welcoming and affirming environment where clients of all cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and identities feel valued and respected.

Additionally, we actively seek feedback from clients to ensure that our services are inclusive and responsive to their unique needs. Our commitment to cultural competence is woven into every aspect of our practice, allowing us to provide personalized and affirming care to all individuals who walk through our doors.

  • For in-office appointments, please aim to arrive 5 minutes prior to your session time and sign in using the digital receptionist located in the lobby. Ample seating is available upon entry and beyond the receptionist desk.

If attending via telehealth, please allocate a few minutes to download the "Telehealth" app, which ensures HIPAA-compliant video usage.

During your initial session, your therapist will guide you through reviewing intake paperwork, including confidentiality agreements, informed consent, and our cancellation policy. They will also address any questions or concerns you may have.

The remainder of the session will be dedicated to discussing potential goals and gathering additional background information, enabling your therapist to formulate a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • A superbill is a summary or receipt of services that you can be provided monthly to submit to your health insurance plan for potential reimbursement for out of network coverage. Please feel free to ask about this option.

Check your coverage by calling the number on the back of your health insurance card and ask if you are eligible for reimbursement by out of network providers.

  • Late cancellation is defined as failing to notify your therapist of a cancellation within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. The associated fee varies depending on your therapist's policy, which will be communicated to you and outlined in the intake paperwork. However, we understand that emergencies may arise, and in such cases, we may waive the fee.

  • The No Surprises Act serves to safeguard consumers against unforeseen medical bills from out of network providers. According to this legislation, individuals have the entitlement to receive a "Good Faith Estimate," detailing the anticipated expenses of their medical care. Health care providers are mandated to furnish clients without insurance or those not utilizing their insurance with an estimate encompassing all potential costs, such as medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Should you receive a bill exceeding your Good Faith Estimate by at least $400, you retain the right to dispute the charges. It's imperative to retain a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for reference. For further inquiries or additional information regarding your entitlement to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
