Couples + Families
Being in a relationship or family can feel like trying to do a group project with no clear instructions, mismatched communication styles, and everyone bringing their own history, hopes, and hurts to the table.
Relationships are beautiful, but they’re also messy—especially when stress, past wounds, or big life transitions turn connection into conflict. In therapy, partners and families get a space to slow down, actually hear each other, and learn how to navigate differences with curiosity instead of defensiveness. The problem usually isn’t that people don’t care—it’s that they’ve never been taught how to communicate, repair, or feel safe being truly vulnerable with each other.

How We Can Help Intimate Relationships
-
Learn skills and tools for how to actually hear each other instead of reacting defensively or talking over feelings (such as saying “I feel abandoned” rather than blaming or shaming and saying "you never help”).
-
We will work to help you recognize the cycles and patterns that lead to resentment and turning away from your relationships, increasing tolerance for uncomfortable conversations and more empathy and understanding across the board.
-
Let’s rebuild intimacy, trust, play and fun in your relationship. Rekindling the feelings that brought you together and finding new admiration and appreciation for your partner.
-
Identify what boundary crossing has taken place that needs to be reestablished, learning language to express these limits in a gentle but clear manner so that everyone feels respected and heard.
How We Can Help Families
-
Through an attachment lens, we can support you and your child form a more secure base to decrease acting out behaviors, separation anxiety, reactive attachment disorder, and other behavioral issues. Sessions are conducted together with attachment and attunement-based interventions that you take home to continue the work outside of session.
-
Whatever your family system looks like, whether that’s a nuclear family or involves grandparents, family-friends, we are here to support your system. Through family sessions, every member gets a voice to express their needs and improve communication, affection, respect and trust.
-
In Family Systems Theory, every member has a role or function in the family system. Family Systems Theory is based on the idea that families are like emotional ecosystems—each person’s thoughts, behaviors, and emotions affect the whole system. Instead of focusing on one "problem person," we look at how patterns, roles, and dynamics within the family contribute to stress or disconnection. In therapy, we work together to shift those patterns and strengthen relationships so the whole family can feel more connected, understood, and supported.
-
Whether you're navigating discipline, communication, or balancing your own needs with your child’s, we work to provide personalized strategies to strengthen your parenting skills and foster a healthy, supportive relationship with your child.
